This page explains how to permanently delete your Calla account and all associated data. Calla is a family calendar app operated by Calla ("we," "us"). These instructions apply to accounts created through the Calla iOS app, Android app, or website at getcalla.ca.
Option 1 — Delete in the Calla app (recommended)
Fastest path — takes under 30 seconds:
Open the Calla app on your iPhone or Android phone.
Tap More in the bottom navigation bar.
Scroll to the bottom of the More screen.
Tap Delete Account.
Confirm the deletion on the pop-up dialog.
Your account is permanently deleted immediately. You will see a farewell screen confirming success, then be signed out automatically.
Option 2 — Delete on this page
Don't have the app handy? Verify your email with a one-time code and delete your account right here. We email a 6-digit code to confirm it's really you — deleting an account is permanent.
If an account exists for , we've emailed a 6-digit code. Enter it below. The code expires in 15 minutes.
Everything tied to your account has been permanently erased. We're sorry to see you go.
Option 3 — Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the Calla app or website (for example, if you have forgotten your password and the password-reset email isn't arriving), you can request account deletion by email:
Family data — if you are the family owner, your entire family (including events, family members, and shared lists) is deleted. If you are a partner, only your own data is deleted and the family owner remains.
Events — all calendar events you created
Family members (kids/partners) — names, colors, emojis
Lists — packing lists, grocery lists, and any shared family lists you created
Push notification tokens — FCM / APNs tokens registered to your devices
Event comments and @mentions — any text you contributed to events
Catch address prefix — your private [email protected] address is retired and cannot be reused
Voice input transcripts — any voice commands processed through the app
Subscription linkage — the RevenueCat customer id and the subscription provider/product stored on your profile (the store subscription itself is cancelled separately by you — see below)
What data is retained (and for how long)
A small amount of data is retained after account deletion, only where required for legal, tax, or security purposes:
Data
Retention period
Reason
Stripe subscription and payment transaction records
7 years
Canadian federal tax law (CRA)
Authentication audit logs
30 days
Security monitoring (suspicious login detection)
Aggregated, anonymized analytics
Indefinite
No personal identifiers; cannot be linked back to you
Support email correspondence
3 years
Dispute resolution and audit history
All retained data has all personally identifiable fields (email, name, phone) removed or pseudonymized except where required by law (Stripe transaction records include the email under which a payment was made, per tax regulation).
What happens to shared family data
If you are the family owner (the first person who signed up and created the family), deleting your account also deletes the entire family, including events and data shared with partners and kids. All family members will lose access.
If you are a partner (invited to an existing family), deleting your account only removes you; the family owner retains all family data. You can rejoin later via a new invite if desired.
Third-party data deletion
When your account is deleted, we also delete or invalidate the following third-party records:
Supabase (our database host) — user record, profile, family, events, all cascade-deleted
Resend (email delivery) — we do not retain outbound email logs beyond 7 days; no action needed
Anthropic Claude (AI processing) — we do not retain request history; Anthropic does not retain content beyond 30 days per their data retention policy
RevenueCat (mobile subscription management) — the subscription linkage stored on your Calla profile (your RevenueCat customer id and the provider/product of your subscription) is removed. The underlying store subscription itself is held by Apple or Google and must be cancelled by you (see below).
Apple App Store / Google Play (mobile billing) — we never store your payment details; these are held by Apple or Google. Any active App Store or Google Play subscription is managed and cancelled through your Apple or Google account, not by us.
Stripe (web payment processing) — your customer record is marked for deletion. Stripe retains transaction data for legal reasons as explained above.
Cancel before you delete
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription, and you may keep being charged unless you cancel it with the store that bills you. Cancel first, using the method that matches where you subscribed:
iPhone / iPad (Apple App Store): Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Calla → Cancel Subscription. Calla cannot cancel an App Store subscription on your behalf.
Android (Google Play): Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Calla → Cancel. Calla cannot cancel a Google Play subscription on your behalf.
Website (Stripe): open the billing portal via More → Manage Subscription in the app, or the Stripe customer portal, and cancel there.
Not sure which one bills you? It is whichever platform you were on when you subscribed. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period — you keep access until then.
