You get a notification for every reply, and your headcount updates in the app — no spreadsheet, no chasing people in a group chat. Guests’ email addresses stay private: Calla sends reminders and updates to them for you. Seven days after the event, guest names and emails are deleted and you keep the totals.

Yes. Install it, pick a design, add your details and share the link. Guests RSVP from their browser and you get a notification for each reply — you never have to set up the family calendar if you don’t want to. Invitations are free.

No. Your guests see your design full screen, with no watermark and no third-party ads — on the free plan too.

Only once they RSVP — the form asks for an email so Calla can send them updates. Calla can send them a reminder the day before, an update if you change the date, time or place (you review it and tap Send), the party album link, and your thank-you note. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you never see their email address.

Yes. Edit the details any time — if the date, time or place changes, Calla holds an update for you to review and send to everyone who said yes or maybe. Closing an invite turns off its link, so guests can no longer open it.

There’s no limit on who you share the link with. Calla’s reminder and update emails go to up to 300 guests per invitation.

In Canada, Premium is $19.99 CAD/year (about $1.67/month) for the whole household — not per parent. In other countries the App Store or Google Play shows the local price. You’re only charged if you choose to subscribe, and you can cancel anytime. See pricing.

Calla is live on the App Store and Google Play — download it on your iPhone or Android phone. There isn’t a browser version yet.

Yes. Invitations, RSVPs, the family calendar, kids’ profiles, lists, reminders and voice add are free with no time limit. Every account also starts with 14 days of Premium — no card required, nothing billed when it ends. Catch, Discover, animated designs and co-parent sharing are Premium.

You drop back to the free plan automatically — nothing is billed and there’s nothing to cancel. Invitations, RSVPs, the family calendar, lists and reminders keep working. Catch, Discover, animated designs and co-parent sharing need Premium from then on. In the last few days Calla shows a short reminder so it never surprises you.

In the app, open More and tap Manage on your membership card — it takes you to your App Store or Google Play subscriptions, where you cancel like any other subscription. Deleting your Calla account doesn’t cancel it for you.

Your household sharing one calendar: you, your kids (they don’t need accounts — they’re profiles you manage), and, with Premium, a co-parent who signs in on their own phone and sees your events as they’re added.

More → Family Sharing → Invite Your Partner: type their email and tap Invite. Calla emails them a link. Ask them to install Calla first, then tap the link to create their login. The link only works for the email you invited and expires after 7 days. Co-parent sharing is part of Premium — and it’s included in your first 14 days.

Yes — with co-parent sharing (Premium, included in your first 14 days), you can invite other adults by email, up to 8 in one family. Each needs the Calla app on their own phone.

Discover covers Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Montréal, plus Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and other major Indian cities, with more coming. If your city isn’t covered yet, the app tells you when you set it. When nothing fits near you, it says so instead of padding the list. Discover is part of Premium and included in your first 14 days.

Yes — three ways. Tap the mic and say it (free) — cancelling by voice works too. Forward an email to your private Calla address, or snap a school flyer and Calla reads the date off the photo — those two are Catch, part of Premium and included in your first 14 days.

Calla needs a connection to load and save your calendar, scan flyers and use Catch. If the connection drops while you’re adding an event, keep the app open and it saves the event once you’re back online.

No. Notifications are about your own plans: reminders for your events (including a heads-up the day before), a note when Catch pulls an event from an email, a heads-up when two events overlap, a note for each RSVP to your invites, new party-album photos, @mentions, and after a party up to two nudges (turn on the photo album, send a thank-you). If you haven’t opened Calla in a while, you may get one “come back” nudge a week at most — turn it off under More → Notifications → “Reminders to come back”. Quiet hours are off until you switch them on in the same place. Apart from one welcome email, we only email you when you ask (like a password reset), or to warn you before deleting an account that has sat unused for about a year.

Per-event push notifications — set a default (from 5 minutes to a week ahead) and change it per event and they arrive even when the app is closed. Event reminders never add a child’s name or the location on the lock screen — the event title shows as you wrote it.

Only the ones you explicitly forward to your private Calla inbox address. Nothing else. We can’t see your Gmail / Outlook / iCloud — Calla has no IMAP access, no OAuth scope to read your inbox. You forward an email, AI extracts the event, the email is deleted as soon as you add or dismiss its events — and automatically within 7 days if you don’t.

Only what you send it: the text of emails you forward and photos of flyers you scan, plus your family members’ first names so it can tag the right person, and anything you ask the list helper to write. Discover also uses Claude to search the web for events in your city — it gets only the city. Anthropic’s Claude reads them — possibly outside Canada — to find dates, times and places. Photos guests add to a party album also get an automatic safety check. It never sees your inbox or the rest of your calendar.

Your family’s data is stored on Supabase (Postgres) in Canada (ca-central-1), encrypted at rest and in transit. Row-level security means your events are visible only to your household. Some processing providers — like Anthropic, which reads the emails and flyers you send to Catch — may process that content outside Canada.

Yes. More → Family Sharing → Export My Data downloads your events, family members, lists and settings as a file, and Export to Calendar saves your events for Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or Outlook.

Kid profile pictures are stored privately for your family only — no public gallery, no face recognition. Event photo albums (guests add photos through your invite link after the party) are visible only to people with that link, pass an automatic safety check before anyone sees them, and are deleted 7 days after the event. Flyers you snap for Catch are read by AI to pull out the dates. A photo you add to an invitation is stored at a public web address — anyone who has that address can see it, even after you close the invite. Email [email protected] to have it removed.

Yes. More → Delete Account, type DELETE, and your profile, events, family members, lists and Catch items are erased straight away — this can’t be undone. If you own the family, your co-parents’ accounts are deleted too. A co-parent sees Leave Family instead, which removes them and deletes their own account. Photos you uploaded to an invitation aren’t removed automatically; email [email protected] and we’ll delete them. It doesn’t cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel that in your phone’s settings. Copies in our encrypted database backups age out within about 30 days, and we only keep something longer if the law requires us to. Read the privacy policy.
